Best Fish & Chips

Want to know where is best to get some local fish and chips? Well, we have you covered!

After doing a bit of research and speaking to staff here we have come up with a list of what we think would be the best fish & chip shops to try when you are travelling round Scotland. Any recommendations are always welcome as well!

If you are collecting your motorhome from ourselves in Perth and fancy a bite to eat before you head off we would recommend either

Marini’s – PH1 5YA or Fish & Chip Company - PH2 0DR

Next up is Dunkeld Fish Bar – PH8 0AR.

Who have recently won The Fry Awards 10 best Fish & chip Restaurants 2022/23.

I would say one of the best known and the Worlds first MSC certified Fish & chip shop is Anstruther Fish Bar – KY10 3AQ

Just to add to the excitement Anstruther fish bar was one of just 6 finalist in Gary Rhode’s ‘Local Food Heros’ TV show.

Going slightly back up north to St Andrews and Tailend – KY16 9PD who provide fresh local selection seafood and produce so they know only the best is being served daily.

Now to the home of the ‘smokey’ Arbroath! Whether you are looking to try the famous ‘smokey’ or sticking with Fish & Chips The Harbour Fish & Chips – DD11 1AX will have you covered.

We are still heading North up to Aberdeen now with Sea Salt + Sole – AB21 7BA. We know the fish is one the most important part however who doesn’t love a crispy yet fluffy chip! That is why Sea Salt + Sole’s recipe varies dependent on the season to ensure they are providing us with only the best.

Heading over to inverness now @ McLeods Fish & Chips – IV3 8BN. Awarded Fry Magazines 50 best takeaways 2020/21 they pride themselves on supplying fresh locally sourced ingredients. Taking pride in the food they deliver every step of the way from sea to plate.

One of the last stops on our list to Fish & chips is SilverTide Fish & Chips- IV19 1AE based in Tain.

Last place on our Fish and Chip Shop adventure is Scrabster - KW14 7UJ under the new ownership of chef Jody Sinclair they are only selection the freshest and best produce from the highlands/islands.
